Getting Better Website Rankings Part 3

Another very effective way to help your website is go around to other websites such as this one here (http://www.DirectorySafe.com) and post articles with key words that link to your website. These are also called back links and lots of backlinks to your website is a very good thing provided that the websites that link to yours are decent and relevant sites to have pointing to yours. Decent that they are doing well such as DirectorySafe.com and relevant such as whatever article you want to post here and have link to you.

For example, let say you have a website about Online Sports Auctions and you want to post an article here in the sports category and link that article to your website. You simple sign up on this website and post an article in the correct category (sports or sporting goods) and then go ahead and post a quality article (such as the one you are reading right now about search engine optimization techniques) and then in your article you post a couple of <a href=> tags linking to your website with the "key words" that you think are relevant about your website.

If you notice, I have just done that in this article with words or word phrases relevant to the site that I am linking to. This is also called anchor text and you want lots of sites out their linking to yours (aka back links) and what actually links (or is clickable, aka hyperlink) is called the anchor text or clickable key words that link back to your website or page. The more websites out there linking to your website with these keywords that google and other major search engines can find linking to yours, the more important your website will appear to those search engines indexing your website.

In other words, if google sees that you have 500 websites such as this one (directorysafe.com) linking to your website with words and word phrases (proper anchor text and back links) relavent to your website, the more important google will think your website is. If your competitor only has 100 back links, your website wil rank higher in most cases in the SERPs (search engine results pages). You can do this by posting articles here such as what you are reading right now, or you can send me an email and I will give you a free evaluation of what I would charge to help you fix your website. In your email to me however, please indicate what your goals and expectations are so that I can understand what it is you might be looking for.
